Curious to know how Picr Beta will be launched?
Last week we wrote about what Picr is and announced that the Beta is almost ready. If you haven’t seen that post, you can read it here.
Today we pleased to finally announce our Beta launch plan and set a hard date (which is very soon!)
But first, a little context
Launching and scaling a product is not easy. There is no doubt that Picr is a great product which has already been tested by an alpha group, but still needs to be tuned for mass adoption. Which is why we can’t scale until we product has sufficient validation. Imagine that you’re creating a completely new automobile and even though your first model is ready, committing to global mass production would not be wise until you have tested the car with a larger user group and worked out the kinks. This is what Beta is all about.
Is Picr Beta for you?
Using a Beta product is not for everyone. In fact, most people don’t qualify to be Beta users. A product in Beta is for early adopters, which is a unique group of people who are constantly the first to use new products. Early adopters accept and embrace the fact, that they may be using a product which is not yet perfected. They are ready to overlook imperfections and believe in the vision. They’re always eager to be the first among their friends to try the newest and latest gadgets. Furthermore, they are usually the ones who introduce their friends to new products and technologies.
If this describes you than Picr Beta is certainly for you. Beta users are eager to participate in the development of the product, regularly provide feedback, and enjoy watching the product evolve to become everything they wish for it to be. The satisfaction of participating in early stage development is what drives early adopters.
And now, onto the launch plan.
When we launch Beta, it will be open for everyone. However, we will only grant access to 10-20 new users per day. You know that you’re an early adopter if waiting in line has never curbed your enthusiasm for the new and revolutionary.
The goal of Beta is to prepare the product for scale by making critical improvements and resolving any remaining bugs. If you’ll be our Beta user, you will see many changes during the first several months. We will be intently listening to your feedback and adjusting the features to make sure they are absolutely perfect.
For example, the website builder at launch will be far from where we see it in several months. As a critical feature in our platform, we need feedback from a larger user group when building it. Same goes for our image delivery and client portal, all of which will continue to drastically improve as we hear your feedback and ideas.
Focus on Community
During Beta, we will also create a community of photographers who are eager to make their business efficient and profitable as possible. We will begin with our Facebook community group (which you can join here) and share with you everything from cool articles to mockups and prototypes of upcoming features.
If you’re looking to join a photography community of early adopters who are striving for business efficiency and innovative techniques then be sure to join the group. Also, join us on Instagram where we regularly feature our photographers!
And now the dates…
We announce these dates with much trepidation, knowing the unpredictability of product launches. But if all goes according to plan, Picr Beta will be launched on:
Drumroll…
July 17th, 2017 @ 6AM (PST) / 9AM (EST)
Which is only in a few weeks! Remember, the first in line will be the first to get access. Put it down on your calendars and be sure to get in right away!
Some of you have been asking us how much the service will cost. We promise you that you would be willing to pay more than what it’ll cost you. But just to satisfy your curiosity, the Beta experience will only be $35/month.
